GAME CANCELLED - Sat 27th May 2006

As a result of the slightly inclement weather, the pitch at Cupids is waterlogged and the game tomorrow against Rayleigh Baptist Church has been cancelled. We will instead be holding a team training session. This will be:

Venue: Leigh Fire Station, Blenheim Chase (opposite Westcliff High School)
Time: 10am-12 noon

We will start with some passing, shooting, crossing, etc. (although not too much running, we promise!) and then finish with a 5-a-side game. These sessions are always good fun and very useful for improving our teams performance, so please do make an effort to come along.

Could everyone please send me a quick reply to let me know you have received this (we don't want people turning up at Cupids in the morning for no reason!) and whether you will be at training tomorrow. Apologies to those people who have already told Alex they are not around tomorrow, but I don't know who those people are!

Best wishes, Jon

Join the metro fantasy football league

The metro league I have set up is now running!  Thought it might be fun to have as many people as possible from LRBC FC in it to create some rivalry and team spirit!  If you fancy it, thought you could send out a quick e-mail to everyone.

You need to go to http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/ and register on the right hand side of the screen.  Full game rules are on this screen as well.  Once you have set up your team, go to leagues on the left hand side of the screen and go to join a private league.  The league code is:

17978-3463

Make full use of the forum to abuse underachievers!!

Best wishes

LRBC FC v Rayleigh Baptist Church FC the re-match

Hi Guys

Well done to day all who played. After a late start due to a Swan on the road just swanning about stopping traffic both in and out of Great Wakering the game was completed with final score of 4 - 3 to RBC FC. Goals on the LRBCFC came from Daren Bird (or was it supposed to be a cross?), another from Alex Todd nicely placed and a beautiful header set up by Greg Taylor for David Elcock (yes I am writing this bit). The game wasn't without it it's incidents as most of the time was spent removing the ball from the ditch with a long stick. However it has put us in good stead to win lots of taky soft toys and goldfish at this summers carnival fair. We know we can do better and will be in better stead when we have our usual keepers back Ricky or Jon S.

Please feel free to add your comments and tips on the game by clicking the comment section below.

Anyway, As mentioned if you were at the game today, we have a rematch against Rayleigh Baptist FC next weekend. The Kick Off is at 10am at Cupids, Great Wakering again and you will all be there for a 9:15am meet to warm up and tactics.

Payment details are the same as usual, so there is a £4 PayPal link sent to you by email, or £5 cash on the day.  Anyone with Manchester money left to pay, that would be appreciated. Just request an email about how much to pay from me Alex Todd.

If you let me know today that you can make it (Mark, Rob, Alex ,David, Darren, Anthony, JP, Greg) then no need to confirm, but can everyone else please confirm both if they can or cannot make the game.

Many Thanks and see you next weekend.

4th Annual LRBC Golf Day

We are pleased to announce the 4th Annual LRBC Golf Day which, this year will be held on Saturday 10th June at Belfairs Golf Course (main course). The first tee-time is 9am and the competition will, as usual, be followed by a Bar-B-Que and prize-giving in the church garden. This is a very popular day and is open to men and women, juniors and adults alike. Those who wish to play are also encouraged to bring playing guests. This is a family day and therefore spectators are very welcome to walk around with your group or meet for the finale at the 18th green after which they can join with the players at the LRBC garden for the food and prize-giving. Places are limited and we would therefore advise you contact Martin Eady (01702 552132 or email martin.eady@rbos.com) as soon as possible if you wish to play in the golf day or for further details.

Game verses Rayleigh Baptist FC (10am KO @ Cupids : 20/05/2006)

Hi Guys

Just a quick email to let you know about another game against Rayleigh that is coming up. It is at Cupids Country Club (in Wakering) and Kick Off is at 10am on Saturday 20th May. I will be there from 9am, and it would be good if all you guys were to arrive betwen 9:15 and 9:30. This will give us time to have a proper warm-up, and also give me chance to give a proper team talk.

PLEASE let me know if you can or cannot make the game ASAP.

New rules for payment are that it is £4 by PayPal (you should have all got an email with a PayPal link for payment), and £5 cash. If you dont have PayPal, then it is £4 cash prior to the game and £5 afterwards.

I look forward to hearing from you guys soon, and seeing most of you at the Blenheim Park firestation on Saturday at 10am for training. Also I need some cash for Manchester ASAP.

Cheers Alex

Training and games up to the Manchester National Christian Football Festival

Hi Guys

Following on from our game on Saturday 22nd April, our next game is now not until Saturday 20th May. I shall send out details at a later date, but if you can keep this date free.

Training is also going to start on Saturday 6th May. It will start at 10am at Leigh Fire Station. We intend to finish around 12 noon. It will run every week until Manchester Christian Football Festival in July, excluding those where we have games. There will be less running at these training sessions, and as a result, we also intend to have a mid-week running session. We are unsure of the exact day yet, but this can be discussed at our next training session. Please confirm that you or will not be able to attend training as we dont want to end up with just 3 of us.

The next point is with regards to Travel to Manchester. I know that some of you (namely Martin, Nick & Graham) will not be coming from Southend. For those coming from Southend, please can you confirm if work arranging will allow for you to leave at about 1pm on Friday 21st July? Some people have already confirmed that they will not be able to leave until later, so if you could all confirm the earliest you will be able to leave Leigh that would be excellent.

The last point is payment. Deadlines are fast approaching, and it would be excellent if I could have payment from you guys ASAP. PayPal details were sent on 14 March. If paying by Cheque then please pass to me your manager Alex Todd.

Alternatively cheques could be brought to training on 6th.

Please respond regarding Training & Travel as it helps me plan everything. You can do this by email or phone.

Cheers Alex
